The smarter work is, the more work spaces are also changing under the banner of flexibility. Indeed, access to digital workplaces via mobile devices makes potentially any place-from the home to transportation to public places-also a workspace.

However, the lived experience of some 8 million Italian workers during the recent lockdown brought out not only the potential benefits, but also the Limits of working from home. Thus, while the more innovative manufacturers of office furniture design furniture conceived more for home spaces than for corporate spaces, and companies are redesigning their offices according to activity-based logics and more based on collaboration than on stable physical presence, on the other hand in cities, and recently also in small towns, the coworking spaces (about 700 nationwide), now chosen not only by freelancers and start-ups, but increasingly also by Employees working remotely.
